Storing Your Photos After Your Wedding

Wedding Tips

January 5, 2022

Your wedding day has come and gone and now you have a gallery full of beautiful images to remember your day by! Each of my couples receives their own online gallery of their images, which makes it easy for them to see all of their photos in one spot and they can easily share them with their family and friends. Plus sharing them online is a super simple way for me to get images to my couples quickly!

While online galleries are quick and easy for couples to gain access to their images, it’s not the only place you should be keeping your photos! Once your receive your gallery, here are the first steps I recommend to saving and storing your wedding photos:

  1. Most people are very excited to receive the email saying their images are ready! I always tell my couples before you go in and start picking your favorites, download your entire gallery first. That way you have ALL of your images downloaded (make sure to pick the high-resolution option!) and saved to your computer. That way there’s no chance you forget to download any part of your day!

2. Back, back, back it up…ay! (Bonus points if you sung that in your head 😂). Take your downloaded photos and copy them to an external hard drive. That way your photos are saved to at least two different locations. Technology is constantly changing so having them in extra spots ensures they’re safe. Not to mention what if something happened like your computer failing or your external hard drive gets broken. The last thing you want is for your photos to become inaccessible to you!

3. We’ve gone over the best ways technology can help protect your photos. But do you want to know the one sure-fire way to protect your memories? Print your photos! With your photographer to create a wedding album or take all of your digital images and get them printed through a professional lab. You’re beautiful images deserve to live outside of your computer!
