Some couples need a little time to warm up in front of the camera. McKenna and Roman? They absolutely crushed it from the very beginning!! 😍

We met up at Coxhall Gardens for their engagement session, and between the gorgeous setting and these two being completely willing to trust the process, it made for such a fun evening together! One of the things I always tell couples before their session is that they don’t need to know how to pose or what to do with their hands. That’s my job! All I need them to do is show up ready to have fun together.

And that is exactly what McKenna and Roman did!

Every prompt, every bit of direction, every little suggestion I gave them to help them feel comfortable and connected, they embraced it 100%. Instead of worrying about whether they were doing things “right,” they focused on each other, laughed together, and just enjoyed the experience. That’s when the magic always happens!!

One of the biggest misconceptions couples have about engagement photos is that the people in the photos must just be naturally good in front of a camera. The truth is, most couples start off feeling at least a little nervous! The difference is letting go of the pressure to be perfect and focusing on each other instead. McKenna and Roman were such a perfect example of that!

Of course, it didn’t hurt that Coxhall Gardens showed off a little too! Between the beautiful landscaping, winding paths, and the iconic twin bell towers, it’s one of my favorite locations for engagement photos in Indianapolis. Everywhere we turned seemed to give us another beautiful backdrop!

By the end of the session, it honestly felt like I’d been hanging out with good friends for the evening. The laughter, the sweet moments, and the way these two looked at each other made every part of the session feel effortless.

And if I’m honest? These ended up being some of my new favorite engagement photos!! There were so many moments that felt genuine and joyful, and that’s exactly what I want for every couple I work with!
