noelle + chris | St. Pius X + The Rathskeller

It all started with a chance encounter at a local karaoke bar. Chris was drawn instantly to Noelle’s beautiful singing voice and when they gathered the nerve to approach each other, it was an instant connection they both knew they didn’t want to miss out on. That connection led to their first date over dinner and drinks at the fabulous Rathskeller downtown. It was a busy night at the restaurant, overflowing with yummy food, delicious beer, and good music. It was there, in that jam-packed Biergarden over pretzels and beer, that Noelle and Chris knew they had found the one.

When helping my couples find locations for their engagement or portrait sessions, I tell them to write a list of their favorite things to do together or places that have significant meaning to them. Noelle and Chris hit it out of the park and picked not one, but TWO locations that were truly sentimental to them. We started our session at their beautiful church, St. Pius X, and then headed downtown to end the evening reminiscing over beer and a pretzel at the Rathskeller. Their session was a sweet journey through their love story and I was lucky enough to hop on for the ride!

I am a hopeless romantic at heart, so it was positively overflowing with joy as we walked around these locations while Noelle and Chris shared so many meaningful moments of their love story with me. There was the indoor chapel where Chris proposed; simple, serene, and what Chris knew was the perfect spot to ask God to bless their relationship before asking Noelle to be his wife. Or there’s the little path in the Biergarden, where Chris fell head-over-heels in love with Noelle over a sweet, simple gesture of helping him with his beer during the busy crowd of people there that night. It was a session full of love, joy, and laughter – what more could I want in a couple?!

Noelle and Chris, thank you for trusting me with so much of your story. I can’t help but smile so wide my cheeks hurt each time I think about your session! God has truly blessed the two of you with each other and I can’t wait to celebrate with you guys on your special day in November!!
