While there are SO many amazing aspects of running my own business, one of the sad truths is business ownership can be a lonely endeavor. When I first started out, I had the idea in my head that I needed to be an expert on everything, had to do everything on my own, to look and feel successful. Boy, I learned quickly I couldn’t have been more wrong! I don’t know about you, but studying tax law is NOT my idea of a good time. So once I figured out it takes a village to put together a couple’s special day, I started reaching out to say hello! One of my favorite ways to get to know new wedding vendors is to sit down and chat over coffee. While that’s not possible right now, I’ll take my cup of coffee and enjoy some virtual chatting instead!!

So in this Vendor Spotlight series, I’ll spend some time introducing you to the amazing vendors in the wedding industry I am lucky enough to call a part of my community. It’s the perfect way to brag on them plus it gives me the chance to provide my current and future couples with details to help build the vendor team of their dreams!

Indianapolis Wedding Videographer | Povlin Films

Chris and Josie of Povlin Films were one of the first professional videographer teams I worked with on a wedding. No offense to anyone’s Uncle Bob and his new camera, but these two proved to me that you can have a seemless photo/video experience when you work together! They do the most beautiful films for their couples, but even better is their fun, joyful personalities! I’m excited to share more about the two of them and their business!

TELL ME ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS! HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN THE WEDDING INDUSTRY?

We got married in July of 2017 and filmed our first wedding on August 26th, 2017.  We knew going into our marriage that coming out of ours we wanted to give that same feeling we got to others.  There is nothing better than working with your spouse on a wedding day.

WHAT DO YOU LOVE ABOUT DOING WEDDING VIDEOGRAPHY?

We love that we get to capture all of those specials moments for our couples and give them a video that they can always watch back on. With our wedding films, it really allows our couples to relive their wedding day over and over again.

WHAT SHOULD COUPLES KNOW ABOUT YOUR PROCESS AND ABOUT WORKING WITH YOU?

Our process is very simple – Connect with us on Facebook or visit our website at Povlinfilms.com and click on the contact button. On that tab your will fill in the necessary info and we will get back to you in mins with the requested info.  We will be available at any time to answer any questions one may have with videography and additional vendors if you need those as well ;). Not only are we there to film their wedding but we are able to help with everything from running to grab drinks to buttoning up the dress and tying the ties.

WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE PART ABOUT WORKING WITH COUPLES AS THEY PLAN THEIR SPECIAL DAY?

Our absolute favorite part is getting to know our couples and their love story. Getting to know who they are and what they like helps make each film specific to that couple.

HOW EARLY SHOULD COUPLES REACH OUT TO BOOK YOU TO ENSURE YOU’RE AVAILABLE FOR THEIR WEDDING DAY?

We would recommend reaching out 12-18 months in advance to book their special day.

WHAT IS ONE PIECE OF ADVICE YOU WOULD GIVE TO COUPLES FOR THEIR WEDDING DAY?

The biggest advice we give our couples is to enjoy every second of their wedding day; don’t stress, let others handle it for you.
