THE FUN & EXCITING THINGS THAT FILLED MY WEEK

Happy Friday, friends! What fun plans do you have for the weekend?!

If you’re new to Life With the Carneys, click HERE to read the first one before you get started! If you’ve already been wonderful enough to follow along for the Life with the Carneys series fun, welcome back!

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to the last couple of weeks:

It felt nice to be back home and get the chance to relax for a few days after the holidays! Once we started to get a little stir-crazy, I took each of the kids out on a Mommy date and they were able to spend some of their Christmas money. Jackson was amazed at all the books there were at Barnes and Noble. He was also a little overwhelmed and didn’t want to browse, just pick the book we came for and leave. 🤣 Harper had one more doll she wanted for her new princess castle, so off to Target we went! Mommy came home with new plant stuff too, so we all had the best time!!

Jon always gets anxious about sitting around too long on break, so finishing the kitchen cabinets was perfect to occupy his time. Does he hate painting cabinets? Yes. Will he do it anyway? Absolutely. We love how the colors turned out, now to save and get new countertops in the next couple of years!

The kids were as excited about getting back to school as they were for Christmas! They missed their teachers and their friends!! Harper was worried that she wouldn’t remember anyone’s name. 😂 This week was also the 100th day of school, which they were very excited about celebrating. Boy do I love how much they love school!

Covid has really screwed up our chances to get over to Saint Louis and see Jon’s aunt and uncle. They gift us tickets to a Cardinals game each summer (Jon’s favorite, we enjoy the pizza and ice cream!) and we end up getting lunch or dinner together to catch up. This year they made the trip to Indy and they surprised the kids with an extra set of Christmas presents. Jackson was in dinosaur Lego heaven and Harper loves her new teddy bear. It’s made out of a mink coat that Jon’s grandma Edna wore, so it’s an extra special bear. It has a special spot on the shelf above her bed and she’s still trying to figure out what the bear’s name should be!
