Parker Avery | Avon, IN
Reading is my hobby. If I could do nothing but curl up in bed in my pjs under a cozy blanket with a stack of books and some chocolate, I would be in heaven. Let’s be real – before I chose to start adulting and then added kids into the mix, this was a common occurrence! It is not often you’ll find me without a book hidden somewhere on my person. In diaper bags, purses, coat pockets, jacket sleeves…if I can get a book to fit, I’ll stash it in just about anything. I’m so it is due to the introvertness (yes, I’m making up words!) of my personality, but I often feel physically anxious to not have one with me. So is it any wonder my first job ended up being at a bookstore??
That joy of reading led me to my lovely job at Borders (I still miss you, you lovely haven of books!) where I met one of the best people I know, Melissa. You know when you meet someone and instantly know that you’ll be friends forever?? That was the first shift I worked with Melissa. Sizing each other up over a stack of books we were probably supposed to be stocking, it was literally like talking to myself in the mirror. When you’re as sarcastic as I am and you find someone on the same level as you, you grab on and never let them go!! That’s Melissa for me. She’s also one of the sweetest, most humble people I know. And the love I have for her has also helped me to forgive her for attending IU. #BoilerUp!
When Melissa asked me back at Halloween about shooting newborn pictures for her again, I was over the moon! And for a Christmas baby, no less!! We had the best time shopping Etsy together for ideas for sweet Parker. I think my favorite newborn prop EVER is his little Christmas tree hat! *insert all the heart eyes here!* I hope you enjoy a peek into our special day!
Much love friends,
