A Newfields Proposal
Dean knew exactly how he wanted to propose to Megan. He planned the perfect date night and spun the evening as a casual outing, all while secretly setting the stage for one very big question.
I arrived early at Newfields to tuck myself away and get into position, which is always one of my favorite parts of photographing surprise proposals. There’s a quiet anticipation while everything is still unfolding behind the scenes, and getting to watch that moment build never gets old.
Dean and Megan strolled the grounds together before making their way to the lawn in front of Lilly House, where Dean stopped, turned to Megan, and popped the question. The surprise was complete, and Megan’s reaction was everything you hope for in a proposal moment. Pure excitement, happy disbelief, and a very easy yes.
After the proposal, we spent time wandering around Newfields for a mini engagement session. With the pressure gone and the excitement still high, the portraits felt relaxed and joyful. The gardens, the architecture, and that just-engaged energy made for such a beautiful gallery that they’ll be able to share and look back on for years to come.
Dean and Megan’s proposal was thoughtful, personal, and full of joy, and I’m so grateful I got to help capture the very beginning of this next chapter for them.
