One of the things I love most about weddings is the DETAILS! I find them fascinating; all the little, tiny details that brides slave over for months to build their perfectly unique day. I started a series awhile back that focused on those particulars and I am so excited to dive right back in!! Bridal Fashion Week has long since come and gone, but who wouldn’t enjoy a refresher (or first glimpse!) on the top trends for 2017’s bridal gowns?!
PLUNGING NECKLINE: Holy-wow, deep plunging necklines made quite the showing! They are quite the talk of the town from both the spring and fall 2017 Bridal Shows. A great option for the modern bride who isn’t afraid to show a little skin with these bold, elegantly sexy looks. These were featured in every single designer’s collection in the spring Bridal Show!
OFF THE SHOULDER: The off-the-shoulder silhouette has trickled in from the fashion world and become a wardrobe staple in the bridal world. From simple to more elaborate designs, this flirty trend is delighting brides seeking a sexy, yet demure look for their big day.
CROP TOP: Now I won’t lie, my brain had a hard time connecting crop top with bridal gowns when I first began my research. After the first look at these designs though, I understand why brides are drawn to them!! These gowns afford a more versatile and playful style, it’s no wonder more and more brides are choosing them.
HIGH NECKLINE: High-neck gowns are ultra-elegant and regal, perfect for brides wanting a timeless look. Available in so many different designs, I love the graceful silhouette this style provides!
BISHOP SLEEVES: The Duchess of Cambridge’s gown from 2011 is still influencing what brides are wearing today. Bishop sleeves are big this year, lending a bohemian chic look with their loose fitting style.
FLUTTER SLEEVES: Flutter sleeves are a great way to add sleeves to a bridal gown without the weight of actual sleeves. They are typically sheer and add depth, adding a little something extra without overdoing it.
I hope you enjoyed a look at the top Bridal Gown Trends of 2017. It won’t be long before Spring 2018 styles hit the runway! Talk again soon!!
