A Downtown Indianapolis Canal Engagement Session | Indianapolis, IN

I’m never more grateful to be photographing a session in a location that I am familiar with than when bad weather pops up unexpectedly on the radar! As I drove towards downtown and watched the dark clouds roll in, I wondered what was in store for us for Hayley and Adam‘s engagement session. The rain was already softly falling by the time I met up with them on the downtown Indianapolis canal, but luckily I knew just the place we needed to go for some cover! And while we didn’t get the sunshine we were hoping was going to peek out, the rain did cooperate enough that their session wasn’t rained out completely!!

Rain or not, Hayley and Adam were up for anything! When rain gives us a run for our money during photo time, I always like to give extra reassurance to my couples that we will get photos they love. We just have to be creative! After saying as much to these two, Hayley looked at me, smiled, and said “We trust you. We know the photos will be good!”

I don’t think my couples truly know how much it means to me when they say that. That I have their full trust to capture such an important time in their lives. It’s such a joyful feeling!! And just as Hayley and Adam predicted, we got them some GOOD photos to love!! 😉😍
