Engagement photos at the Indiana Statehouse
The Indiana State House is one of those locations that just never disappoints. The architecture, the light, the clean, timeless feel of it all… it’s always such a gorgeous backdrop for an engagement session! But as beautiful as a location can be, what really makes a session come to life is how a couple feels in front of the camera.
When Jenna and Connor first arrived, they were a little nervous. And honestly, that is so normal!! Most couples aren’t used to being in front of a camera, and it can feel a little intimidating at first. One of the biggest things I focus on during every engagement session is helping my couples feel comfortable, relaxed, and like they can just be themselves.
Because when that happens, everything changes! Instead of worrying about where to put your hands or wondering if you’re doing it “right,” you start laughing, moving, and actually enjoying the moment together. That’s exactly what Jenna and Connor did.
They chose to lean into it, laugh through the nerves, and trust the process, and it made such a difference. As we kept moving through the session, you could see them relax more and more. The smiles got bigger, the moments felt more natural, and everything just started to flow.
That’s always my goal. Not just to take pretty photos, but to create an experience where you feel comfortable enough to show up as yourselves. I’ll guide you when you need it so nothing feels awkward, but I also leave space for those real, in-between moments to happen naturally.
Between the stunning architecture of the Indiana State House and the way Jenna and Connor leaned into the experience, this session turned into something so fun and full of life. It’s such a good reminder that you don’t have to feel like a “pro” in front of the camera to get beautiful photos. You just have to be willing to trust the process and have a little fun with it!
Jenna and Connor, I’m so glad you chose to embrace the moment and make this session your own. It was such a joy getting to capture this season for you both, and I cannot wait to celebrate with you on your wedding day!! 💛✨
