A Romantic Engagement Session at the Indiana Statehouse

There’s something so magical about photographing a couple who’s completely at ease with one another—and that’s exactly how I’d describe Rylee and Kyle! Their engagement session at the Indiana Statehouse was the perfect blend of elegance, romance, and playful fun. These two were absolute naturals in front of the camera, and I couldn’t stop smiling behind the lens the entire time!

The Indiana Statehouse is one of my favorite spots for engagement sessions with its timeless architecture, grand staircases, and soft natural light that creates the dreamiest backdrop. It’s impossible not to feel a little swept up in the romance of it all, and Rylee and Kyle brought all the love and laughter to match.

From the moment we started shooting, they slipped right into their rhythm—laughing together, sneaking sweet kisses, and moving through the space like it was made just for them. It’s always such a joy when couples trust the process and lean into just being themselves. These two did exactly that, and it made for the most genuine, heartfelt images.

One of my favorite moments? When Kyle pulled Rylee in close on the marble staircase and she burst into the happiest laugh—it was pure magic! Those little in-between moments, full of personality and connection, are what I live for as a photographer.

Their chemistry is effortless, their smiles infectious, and you can just feel how much they adore each other. If this session is any indication of what their wedding day will be like, I already know it’s going to be an absolute blast!
