Country Traditional Styled Shoot at Mount Ida Farm | Scottsville, VA

As part of my trip to Virginia to attend the Katelyn James Business Journey event, I had the opportunity to attend a beautiful styled shoot hosted by K Layne Styled! Creatively Gathered was held at the stunning Mount Ida Farm in Scottsville, Virginia. I think I walked around with constant heart eyes for how beautiful Mount Ida is and can only hope to one day get to photograph a sweet couple’s wedding there!

So for those outside the industry thinking “Courtney, what the heck is a styled shoot?,” well I’ll tell you! Simply put, it’s a faux wedding put together for photographers to create gorgeous images, support other vendors, try out new photography techniques/skills, and have a ton of fun with other photographer friends! I was lucky enough to be paired with a fricking awesome group of ladies. Our lead photographer, Taylor, had all the details to help keep us on track. I was beyond excited to find she was my lead, as we’d been stalking each other on Instagram for quite some time!! Seriously, the group I was paired with made the day even more spectacular!

We started the day with the “Country Traditional” wedding, full of fun backyard wedding traditions elevated to the next level! From the gorgeous dress to the floral tree that was created IN THE DARK by the amazing Michelle of Your Signature Designs, to the cathedral veil of my dreams, I’d say that this traditional countryside wedding absolutely shined!!
