What to Remember For Your Wedding Details Checklist

I start every wedding day off with details! This is one of my favorite parts of a wedding day because it gives me the chance to enjoy all the beautiful details you chose for your big day. Plus it gets my creative side warmed up for the rest of the day! I love getting a chance to style and shoot everything because the details showcase the style of the entire wedding day!!

For every part of the wedding process, I like to make sure that my couples know what to expect. 24 hours before the wedding, I send my brides an email with these day-of reminders for their details:

1. Gather The Goods

Take time to collect all of your details before I arrive for the day. Simple Rubbermaid container works perfectly! When they’re ready for me, I can quickly start photographing them and have more time for capturing getting ready shots of you and your girls!

2. Bring Extra Elements

Want your photographer to love you even more?? Include some extra elements that fit the style of your wedding in your details box! This can be extra flowers from your florist, scraps of fabric, dishes, trays, ribbon…the list is endless!! Including elements that you’re using in other areas of the wedding design makes your photos beautiful and consistent!

3. Keep All Three Rings

One of the most common details missing when I arrive is the groom’s ring. It needs to end up with the best man before the ceremony, but then we miss out on including a very important item in your detail photos!! Tuck it (and any other groom details you want to be captured!) in the same box as your details. Once I’m done doing details, I hand it over so my second photographer, mom, or a bridal party member can get it where it needs to go in plenty of time!

4. Bring Your Bouquet

Don’t forget your bouquet! Besides having it so I can include it in your details, this also guarantees that they are ready and waiting when it’s time to begin portraits. Plan with your florist to have the bouquets and boutonnieres delivered to where you’re getting ready. That way no one has to hunt them down or travel to get them, which can cause delays in the wedding schedule!
