THE FUN & EXCITING THINGS THAT FILLED MY WEEK

Happy Friday, friends! What fun plans do you have for the weekend at home?!

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to the last couple of weeks:

I still chuckle that this update started out as a joke over dinner between Jon and I. We had just found out about the initial three weeks Jon and the kids would be out of school. Knowing Jon goes stir crazy after a week or so on any long break, I told him this was the perfect time to paint the kitchen. He chuckled, but it wasn’t long before we were pulling out the paint swatches we’d chosen over a year ago to use and making a list of supplies we’d need. It turned out so amazing, our kitchen is so bright and airy now! We find all the excuses to be in the kitchen now. And now that school is officially out for the remainder of the year, how long before I get him to commit to redoing the hardwoods throughout the house we had chosen too? LOL!

So besides being stuck at home, Indiana has decided it also needs to be cold and rainy outside. So we’re truly stuck in close quarters with each other for days on end. Not cool. We did have a couple of days we managed to get some good weather and the kids enjoyed exploring the neighborhood on their first bike ride of the year!

That being said, last week I shared six of the fun activities we’re doing to stay entertained at home. You can check it out HERE! I’ve been enjoying flexing my creative muscles by creating flatlays and the kids are all about playing board games!!

I’ve also learned several things stuck in quarantine these last few weeks. Being in close quarters with the people I love the most, I think we’d have gone insane if we hadn’t figure them out quickly!

I let Jackson and Harper help me bake banana bread one morning for breakfast and now they are obsessed! Jackson wakes up every morning asking for a new item to bake. He’s so excited, it’s hard to tell him we can’t do something every day. They both loved moving onto dessert baking with Jon though and made a delicious apple pie from scratch!

I think and pray every day for my family members who are out there working their asses off as essential workers. Some who it is silly that they are seen as essential. It scares me to death and pushes my anxiety through the roof. Stay home everyone…please. Follow the guidelines so we can end this.

Much love and stay safe friends,
