THE FUN & EXCITING THINGS THAT FILLED MY WEEK

Happy Friday, friends! What fun plans do you have for the weekend?!

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to the last couple of weeks:

I had a lovely session with one of my 2021 couples at the end of July! Andrea and Steve are just so sweet together and I don’t think we could have had more perfect weather for their photos!

We survived our first week of school for Jackson! That used to sound so dramatic to me (I have been known to be a little dramatic 🤣), but with all the extra worry I have been a tense, anxious ball of nerves for the last couple of weeks about sending him in-person. He’s loving his new teacher though and he actually finds it kind of fun wearing his mask (I don’t know how he feels/does about it in the classroom, so I’ll take that at face value). Bonus? One of his friends from his kindergarten class is in his new class, so he’s very excited!!

On the Harper school front, for right now she’s at home with me as we wait for a spot to open for preschool. We enjoyed where she was at, but they’re required to take a 2 hour nap in the middle of the day. This girl hasn’t needed (or will take) afternoon naps for well over a year now and we knew from last year it was just going to cause disruptions for the teacher. I was afraid she was going to feel lonely, but she’s stepped up helping me around the house and started doing some preschool work at home.

I was on a phone conversation this week with one of my fall couples and they came to the tough decision to cancel their full wedding day. It’s such a bummer, but they know that it’s the right decision for them and their families. Even worse? I won’t be available for the date of their ceremony! *cue ALL the tears* But as we talked, a plan started to form for us to still get them the photos of their dreams with me in a location to die for. I can’t share anything more about it, but believe me, if we pull it off it will be epic!! This sweet bride was bubbling with excitement by the end of our conversation (the groom was happy too, but do guys want to be described as bubbling with excitement?) so if COVID has taught me anything, it’s that there is a perfect plan for each and every couple. All you have to do is be flexible and think outside the box! Having decades of retail/hospitality experience between me, the bride, and groom where you’re required to problem solve on the fly also helped. 😂

Much love friends,
