As it seems to be a big factor for all of my photo sessions so far this year, I spent the few days leading up to Katelyn and Dan’s Coxhall Garden Family Session scoping out the radar and hoping the rain would simply pass on by. I have never had to dodge or reschedule so much for the rain! As I made my way to Carmel and watched the clouds rolling across the sky, I was having my doubts. But as I rolled under the metal arches of Coxhall Garden’s entrance, the clouds suddenly cleared and the bright, beautiful sun burst through. Talk about excitement!
You see, months ago Katelyn put up a post in a photography group we are both a part of asking if anyone was interested in swapping family sessions. As someone I had been following for some time on Instagram and sharing a similar photography style, I wanted to be able to deliver and give her the images I know she’s been wishing for! As a photographer it’s easy to forget or choose to not prioritize getting in front of the camera, so I was very grateful that I happened to see her post exactly when I did! Having been swapping clothing and location ideas for several weeks, I knew Katelyn, Dan, and their two ADORABLE kiddos were going to look fabulous for their session!! I mean, it looks like they walked right off the set of a fashion shoot, am I right?!
Katelyn and Dan, you guys have two of the sweetest kiddos I have ever had the pleasure of chasing around with my camera. The love and joy you all have for each other is apparent in every look, snuggle, and burst of laughter! Thank you for choosing me to capture these fun, yet fleeting, moments with your little ones. And Katelyn, I hope you take time to prepare for the workout you’re going to get when we get Jackson and Harper in front of your camera – HAHA!
Much love friends,
