A Monticello Indiana Couples Session

It is always such a joy to have Shelly and Nick in front of my camera. This time was extra special, as the day before they had surprised Jon and I with the news that they were going to have a BABY!! Oh boy, it has been hard to keep a lid on that bit of good news! Jon and I had traveled to Muncie for his cousin’s wedding, so on our way back to pick the kids up from my parents, Shelly asked me to stop by and give them some style advice for our session. We did some front porch sitting and chatted it up, when Nick remembered they had one more thing to iron out with us. He came out of the house with the cutest “Baby Johnsen” sign asking if it would be okay to use during the session. I’m not ashamed to say I cried!

And now in just a few short weeks, they’ll be surprising us all over again with Baby J’s gender. I am beyond excited to watch their journey into parenthood, as it is something they’ve both wanted for some time now. So here’s a look at Shelly and Nick’s last session as a family of two…..or their first as a family of three 😉
