Do These Four Things First!
You’re engaged and ready to start dreaming about your day!! You’re scrolling Pinterest, pinning inspiration, and getting ideas for allllll the details. You know there are dozens of things to mark off your list, you’re ready to hit the ground running. So is it time to start reaching out to wedding photographers? Not quite!! Before you dive into finding your perfect photographer, there are a couple of things that need to be considered first!
1. Enjoy Being Engaged!
Don’t feel like the second you say yes and he puts that ring on your finger, that you need to start planning! Sit back and enjoy some time together to celebrate before you dive in, you won’t regret it!!
2. Pick Your Date
This doesn’t always mean picking a specific date on the calendar! The most important thing you can do before you reach out to any vendors is to figure out what time of the year you want to get married. Have you always wanted to have a fall wedding? Is your anniversary in the spring and you would like to get married on that date? You want to have a general idea of the time of year or special date you can base your decisions around, especially when you start visiting venues!
3. Confirm Your Venue
This step goes hand-in-hand with picking your date. Besides finding a venue that fits the vibe you want for your wedding day, you also need to find one that is available for the date you would like to get married on. You don’t want to start doing venue tours and fall in love with one that has no availability/flexibility for the date you want!
4. Know Your Photography Style
This THE most important step when it comes to looking at photographers for your wedding day! Take time to sit down with your partner and really talk about the style of photographer you want for your photos. These are memories that you want to cherish for a lifetime, it makes sense that you take the time to figure out what you both want! Do you want bright, colorful, natural images? Perfect, I’m your girl! Are you looking for a more dark and moody style? You might need to keep looking and find a photographer who specializes in that. There are so many options when it comes to photographers, knowing the style that you want will help cut back on getting overwhelmed with so many options!
