Oh, friends! This Brown County State Park engagement session is special to me for so many reasons!

First, this is the first time I have ever visited the gorgeous Brown County State Park! We’ve lived in Indianapolis for almost ten years and I still can’t believe all the time we’ve missed out on exploring this beautiful location. The gorgeous scenery is so reminiscent our visits to southern Indiana to see Jon’s family; full of rolling hills and tracts of forest you can gaze upon for miles. And while we were afraid the rain was going to wash our session out, luckily the skies cleared so I could have a blast spending some time in such a special place for Courtney and Adam.

But the real reason this session is so special to me is the relationship I have built over the last year with Courtney. She is one of the teachers in Jackson’s room at daycare and he just loves her! So much in fact, that he often confuses us for one another! I can’t tell you the number of times I’ve been called “MissCourtneyMommy.” Having the same first name as one of your child’s favorite teachers is another fun hurdle, let me tell you! “Yes, Mommy’s name is Courtney too….but you call me Mommy.” It is hard being a working mom and leaving my kiddos with someone else throughout the day. But I’m comforted in knowing I’m leaving them with people that love them and have their best interest in mind.

Courtney and Adam, I had so much fun with you in a location I know means a lot to you. Courtney, thank you for being such an important part of Jackson’s life and Adam, thank you for listening to all the crazy Jackson stories I’m sure she comes home with! I can’t wait to celebrate with you guys in September!
