A Summertime, Prairie Elopement Wedding | Valparaiso, IN

I say it time and again, but I love, love, love when couples pick wedding details that have so much meaning to them. Last Friday I had the joy of heading up to Valparaiso for Crystal and Rick’s Porter County Courthouse elopement and it couldn’t have been sweeter! Crystal and Rick live down in Virginia, but Valparaiso has always held a special place in Rick’s heart. His dad attended Valparaiso University and Rick was born there at Porter Memorial Hospital before his family packed up and moved back to Maryland not too long after his birth. He told me that he’s always been looking for a reason to come back to visit and what better way to do that than travel there to marry his sweetheart!

When we all arrived we took some time to snap photos before heading into the courthouse for the ceremony. Rick looked handsome in his suit and Crystal wore a beautiful vintage dress with some lace detailing she added herself. Their florist also knocked it out of the park with Crystal’s prairie-inspired bouquet. I loved it! The only hiccup was that it was still SO hot outside, I’m so glad Crystal and I had decided to split up their portrait time around the ceremony. No one wants to be sweaty and gross for their wedding day!!

We got all checked in and paperwork filled out and then it was ceremony time! Everyone was so friendly and the judge who presided over the ceremony wrote the sweetest vows for Crystal and Rick to share. Not gonna lie, I was a little teary-eyed myself during them! It was such a beautiful moment and I am so blessed I was able to celebrate it with Crystal and Rick!

Much love friends,
