How To Make Mom A Part of Your Special Day

As you start planning and preparing for your wedding day, chances are your mom is going to take on a huge role in that. Whether it’s going on venue tours with you or helping you find the perfect dress, she’s ready to make things happen! She’s been a huge support since day one but when the wedding day arrives, she gets very little of the attention. It doesn’t seem fair!

Taking time to include Mom in your wedding day will truly mean the world to her. It’s the perfect way to show her just how much she means to you!! Here are four ways you can include your mom on your wedding day:

1. Take Getting Ready Images With Her

When hair and makeup are done and it’s time to get things moving, have Mom help you get into your wedding dress. Chances are this has been a moment she’s been dreaming about for a long time…getting her little girl into her wedding dress. It is such a sweet moment to capture together. These are often some of my favorite images from the getting ready portion of the day!

2. Exchange Gifts

Take time in the morning and give your mom a little token to show how much you appreciate her. This can also be the perfect time for mom to To give you a gift that you can use as your something old, something new, something borrowed, or something blue!

3. Let Her Walk You Down The Aisle

While this is a tradition usually left for dad, it is becoming more common to see mom joining the bride for the walk down the aisle. I think this is such a beautiful way to include her in the ceremony!

4. Do A Mother/Daughter Dance

Another fun way you can include mom is to do a mother/daughter dance with her during the reception. Keep it a surprise or do a choreographed dance together, mom is sure to love every minute!!
