Indiana Dunes Engagement Session | Chesterton, IN
Oh friends, am I excited for this one!! Last weekend I headed to northwest Indiana for sweet Adalynn’s one year session and to meet up with Lauren and Anthony for their engagement session. The rain has been relentless these last couple of weeks and I was definitely worried that we were going to have to reschedule. Lauren and Anthony had chosen the gorgeous Starved Rock State Park as our original location, but due to flooding we had to make a last minute change. After a little sleuthing, we settled on the Indiana Dunes and boy, I am so glad we did!! The water! The gorgeous weather! The colors! The sunset! The thigh workout! It was such a fun session – though it took my legs a couple of days to recover, HA!
I have had the absolute best time learning all about Lauren, Anthony, and their wedding over the last several months. These two high school sweethearts officially “met” back in the 4th grade and casually knew each other through their years in band (woo, fellow band nerds!). Last May they took a special trip together to France. Anthony was teased and questioned a lot on whether he was going to propose while they were in Paris, but was firm that he’d “never do something that cliche!” Lauren never knew that Anthony was planning to do just that! On a beautiful spring day in the blooming gardens of Versailles, after asking a stranger to snap a photo of them, Anthony got down on one knee to ask for Lauren’s hand. So technically he didn’t fib, as they weren’t in Paris…sneaky, isn’t he?! I love hearing Lauren tell this, as her most vivid memory of their proposal is of that poor stranger asked to snap a photo. He clued in pretty quickly what was going on and just kept shouting “Oh my God, oh my God!!” Lauren joked she could practically make a flip book with the photos he took just mashing down the camera button!
Much love friends,
