Emily + Dustin | Indianapolis, IN

You know those couples, the ones whose face light up when they smile at you? Well, that is Emily and Dustin! When they walked up for their engagement session last Sunday, their bright, infectious smiles were the first thing I noticed. No outfit, no hair style, no prop could have drawn my eye quicker than their smiles! I knew instantly that we were going to have the BEST time during their session!

You guys, Indiana has been in rare form for this time of the year. It feels like we are living our own version of Groundhog Day, forever stuck with the snow and cold temperatures of February. Seriously, I have lived in Indiana my whole life and I don’t know that I have ever seen snow on the ground in April! Or if I have, I’ve blocked it out of my memory, for good reason….With a monsoon of rain falling just days before Emily and Dustin’s session, I was anxious we would find a dry spot to take photos. Seriously, riding a kayak to work would have been easier than driving!

Alright, back to the stars of the show, Emily and Dustin. We began talking about me photographing their wedding almost a year ago – it’s crazy to think it’s been that long! – so I was ecstatic to finally have them in front of my camera! Dustin has worked with the band at Beech Grove, in addition to his other music jobs, since Jon started there eight years ago and Emily’s working towards achieving her degree in biology.

Emily and Dustin, your session couldn’t have been anymore laid-back and fun if we tried! Your love for each other just shines right through and you guys handled the chilly weather like champs. Each location, each smile, each frame just made me more and more excited for your wedding in June at the Allison Mansion. I hope you love your engagement photos as much I as did taking them. I have SO many new favorites from our time together!
