Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to the last few weeks:

It’s already been 2 months with our new puppy Apollo! He’s been the perfect addition to the family, even our senior dog Jason would agree at this point. He loves to run, destroy toys and is obsessed with me. 😂 He’s started barking at our neighbors who have the audacity to walk down the sidewalk outside our house and I feel like his legs double in size each day! His coloring has drastically changed too, with some husky coloring coming through!!

We had a big holiday season, starting with Thanksgiving! Jon and I host my family at our house and we had a full house this year with everyone coming over the day before and sleeping over. It’s wild and crazy but we love it. We ended the weekend with a celebration for our nephew Harris turning 2!!

Harper has been loving music at school and we enjoyed an evening seeing her perform with all of her friends! She was on the side of the risers that really vibed while singing their Christmas songs. 😂

Apollo enjoyed his first sleepover with some friends while we went south for Christmas with Jon’s family. The weather was pretty mild so the kids were able to get out and run while the adults played card games. There was a really intense game of Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza that led to some minor injuries, but we had a blast!

Christmas Eve we had our annual sleepover at Jon’s sister’s house. They also got a new puppy this year, Apollo was thrilled to have someone who would actually wrestle and play with him. They were so funny to watch! We spent a great afternoon at the Carmel Christkindlmarkt too, next year we hope to go back and try ice skating!!

We woke up at home on Christmas morning before packing our bags to head to my brother’s for Christmas with my family. All of us girls are planners, so we had a lot of great food, desserts, and fun games to play for the kids and adults!

One of our Christmas traditions since I was a kid was to have dinner at my great-uncle Gary’s house. He passed away right before Christmas this year, so it was a bittersweet holiday as we laid him to rest in a military service at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetry in Illinois. I’ll miss my birthday twin, but I’ll never forget all the beautiful memories we had in their home and the peace knowing he’s reunited with my great-aunt Alice!
