Happy Monday friends!! I hope this first official Monday of fall is treating you well!

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to this past week:

• Speaking of the weather, what in the heck has happened to fall?!?! This extremely hot weather again is just not okay with me! Luckily this week seems to be a slow decline back to the more mild temperatures that I love so much, I can’t wait.
• Jackson’s favorite activity right now is puzzles, puzzles, puzzles! He still struggles some to match up tiles and he doesn’t understand we can’t just make two pieces fit together because he wants them to. It’s been fun to watch his little mind work on solving those road blocks. He’s been so obsessed he has his favorite Finding Dory puzzle memorized. I looked to up the game this weekend and we broke out a 550 piece puzzle to work on together. He was really excited to see the puzzle picture come together, but he lost interest 5 minutes in sorting for the edge pieces!
• Back when we began dating, Jon and I used to surprise each other with date nights all the time. We would take turns planning an outing and refused to give each other details as to what we would be doing. Demanding jobs and two kids later, we have fallen out of the habit of nurturing that aspect of our relationship. Well he told me sternly at the beginning of this month he was planning something and to not make plans for this past Friday. It was a lovely surprise of a kids-free evening to Ruth’s Chris, where we enjoyed the most delicious dinner followed by a stroll around downtown. It was good to take time for the two of us, I’m making it a personal goal to keep this up!
