Guinevere | 6 Months | Greenwood, IN

Here I was on a December Sunday afternoon. With the windows down, sunglasses on, wind blowing through my hair while Christmas music blasted on the radio. On my way to a mix of a six month portrait session and a lifestyle Christmas family session, not really believing we could possibly be in December with the weather in the mid-50s and the sun shining so bright. After all, isn’t it sacrilegious for the weather to be this warm and snow just a distant dream on the radar once December rolls around??

I am not a person that handles the cold very well. In winter, you can find me constantly sporting a sweater or cardigan everywhere I go. I never leave home without extra EXTRA layers. I’ve also been known to wear three pairs of socks on my feet to keep my toes warm, even in the house. Winter weather and I, we are not BFFs. Just thinking about snow on the ground makes my toes shiver in my boots. Which is laugh worthy really, as I am a grown adult who continues to live somewhere that snow visits regularly. It must be because I can’t imagine living anywhere that doesn’t have a white Christmas! I have felt cheated the last couple of years with our hit and miss patches of snow for Christmas day. If snow must come, let it be here at least on Christmas! Everything draped in a blanket of beautiful white, looking so serene. Christmas lights shining. Bundled up together with all of my family, enjoying hot chocolate, playing board games, sharing presents and swapping stories. That right there is my idea of a dream Christmas!

For Guinevere’s six month session, we stole some time outside to enjoy the surprisingly warm weather. Guinevere is sitting up by herself now and has the BEST little giggle. Older sister Elizabeth has become even more of a good helper with sissy, dispensing hugs and tickles at the drop of the hat. Although I think she had the most fun running circles around the backyard coat-free 😉 Jen had shared an idea of matching Christmas pajamas at this session and boy she did not disappoint! Cue the adorable photos of matching Christmas Star Wars pajamas and light up Santa slippers!!

Jen and Chester, thank you for letting me be a part of this journey with you guys. You have two of the sweetest little girls and I love getting to capture these memories of them growing up together. Here’s to more sweet, fun times when we get together again at 9 months!!
