THE FUN & EXCITING THINGS THAT FILLED MY WEEK

Happy Friday, friends! What fun plans do you have for the weekend at home?!

If you’re new to Life with the Carneys, click HERE to read the first one before you get started! If you’ve already been wonderful enough to follow along for the Life with the Carneys series fun, welcome back!

Here’s a look at what we’ve been up to the last couple of weeks:

It feels like it was ages ago, but I kicked off 2020’s wedding season with Kat and Josh’s gorgeous Coppes Commons wedding up in Nappanee, Indiana. My bestie Abbie came with me as my second shooter and while we had some chilly weather to battle with, Kat, Josh, their families, and friends were simply amazing!!

We bumped Harper’s birthday party back a weekend to accommodate my wedding schedule and it was definitely challenging to get both her and Jackson to understand. They must get their impatience from their mother! 😂 We had a great time celebrating with family and Harper was extra excited because, thanks to her Auntie Skye, she was able to dress like Elsa!

I can’t tell you how much I miss getting to go out for the little social interaction I did before this quarantine started. I miss my friends! I don’t think any of my photog besties and I could have known that our February branding session would be the last chance we’d be able to get together for headshots for awhile. We definitely went all out and rented the Zionsville Studio Loft for the day and had so much fun capturing months’ worth of photos. So be prepared to see my face a heck of a lot more!!

We lucked out quite a few times in February with some weather all the way up into the 50s! Emily and Austin’s engagement session at Lizton Lodge was lucky enough to fall on one of those dates so we didn’t freeze Plus, we had the most GORGEOUS sunset which makes me even more excited for their wedding there in September!!

A lot of firsts happened in the last few weeks for Jackson and Harper! First a trip to the dentist where we were happy to see that neither one of them has any cavities or issues. They loved getting new toothbrushes and their own thing of floss, it was hysterical! Although I’m sure the hygenist was exhausted after the one million questions Jackson asked her. Their favorite part even more than our dentist does face painting once you’ve completed your appointment!

A couple of weeks later it was time for their first eye doctor appointment and again we received the good news that both their eyes are good! Jon and I needed to get glasses, so even though they didn’t get any of their own, Jackson and Harper loved helping us pick out our frames. Harper was VERY opinionated on what we could and could not wear. 😂

I had my first leap year wedding and it could not have been a more perfect day!! Lauren and Anthony are two of the sweetest people ever and I was excited to have Abbie join me for their winter wedding at The Morton Arboretum! I know it was Lauren’s dream to have snow on her big day, I’m so happy the weather cooperated for us with a small snow shower the night before!!

Jon, the kids, and I haven’t had a weekend off together since Christmas break so when the first weekend of March rolled around and we were all free, we could do nothing but head to our favorite place! The Indianapolis zoo is definitely one of the kids’ favorites and we were excited to see so many animals out and about!!

Frozen 2. That’s all I have to say.

March 12th was like waking up on Christmas morning as I headed down to The Wilds for our burgundy and bourbon styled shoot!! It was two months of hard work and we did things I am so proud to share more of soon!!

An ode to coronavirus: Stop it. You are dumb. We all are ready for you to leave. Until you do…EVERYONE STAY THE HELL HOME. The end.

Jon and I made the joke to each other on the first day school was canceled due to coronavirus that we had all the time we wanted now to paint our kitchen. We chuckled…and then the next day we had all the supplies to do it! Jon tried it out on our half bath cabinets first and we were so happy with it he has started tackling the kitchen. We’re excited to share the whole thing completed soon!!

I’ve only had them for two days, but I am loving my new glasses!! I’ve always had slight astigmatism in my eyes and up until college I wore them for reading and night driving. Then I decided one day to not wear them anymore and not go to the eye doctor for years and years 😂 #dontdothat Harper and Jackson loved helping me pick them out and it was unanimous that I needed the red ones!!

Much love and stay safe friends,
